A free alternative to Duolingo

KindLearn is a free language learning platform with 13 written 30-day courses, AI conversation practice and a Kids Zone. There is no premium tier, no advertising and no payment mechanism in the product.

The comparison on this page is drawn from what each product publicly offers. Where KindLearn does not yet match an alternative, the page says so rather than leaving it out.

The AI tutor allows sixty messages a day when signed in — the feature most comparable products charge for is the one KindLearn most wants people to use.

What thirty days delivers is stated before you sign up: roughly 300 of the most-used words and the confidence to use them, which is the foundation of CEFR A1 rather than the whole of it. The Council of Europe puts A1 alone at 80 to 100 guided hours, and every course page says so.

The Kids Zone carries no advertising and no in-app purchases, and the interface itself is available in seven languages.
